The story continues.
Séadna does not return, so Micil stays the night to keep an eye on his place. He doesn't sleep well - gets spooked. When he finally falls asleep, he is soon woken up by the men working - and Séadna is back!
Séadna sends him home to rest. His mother isn't home when he gets there, and he thinks she's up to no good trying to arrange a marriage between Sadhbh and Séadna. He goes to Diarmaid's hous to fetch her, and Sadhbh gives him what for (they get very hostile!). There is no trace of his mother there.
When he returns home, his mother is there. They talk (nothing nice to say about Sadhb). They decide the best girl for Séadna is really Máire Ghearra. Micil decides to try and arrange it, with his mother's encouragement.
